Eclectic Chic’s Sleek Makeup Influenster VoxBox Review

Hey beauties! You all are in for a real treat! This Makeup and Beauty blog post features Eclectic Chic’s most recent Influenster VoxBox cosmetic reveals. Sleek MakeUP sent us their new Vintage Romance eyeshadow palette, Cleopatra’s Kiss highlighting palette, and Fierce Felt Liner in Zodiac Black. Sleek MakeUP Highlighting Palette in Cleopatra’s Kiss

What is one of my favorite beauty products you may ask? Well, that’s a no brainer. Highlighter of course. There is nothing like a great highlighter to to give you a luminous glow. Highlighting products allow me to outwardly exude a subtle, summer radiance even when it’s zero degrees in the middle of winter. Thank goodness us Michigan girls and other winter warriors have these types of products at our disposal. The Sleek MakeUp Highlighting Palette in Cleopatra’s Kiss makes you feel kissed by the sun. The upper right and lower left products in the palette are a light creamy texture. They smoothed on easier than most highlighting products I’ve used in the past, which was a major plus. When trying the upper right light golden brown product in the palette, I smoothed it on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, the tip of my chin and forehead, on my cupid’s bow, and the center of my upper lip. I was channeling my inner Egyptian ruler and goddess, ready to grace a lucky someone with a kiss. At this point, I would have been fine without using any of the other two products in the palette. However, I tried the powders in the upper left and lower right hand corners of the palette, so that I could share a review with you all. I found that a little goes a long way. I lightly dusted the pink powder over my cheekbone areas where I applied and blended the creamy golden brown highlighter. This added light pigmentation and a bit more sheen.

Tips For Use Of This Product:

When adding highlighter to your makeup routine, start with less, then build from there if you need more product.
Make sure to blend with a good blending brush to ensure that it does not look like the gold is just laying on your face.
If you use both the creamy and the powder products in this palette, blend in between applications of both products.
Finally, if you choose to use either of the powder products (upper left or lower right), be sure to blow off excess product from your brush before initially applying to your face. This will prevent unnecessary fallout from ruining your makeup look and making a big mess in your space where you put on your makeup. My space is my vanity table in my bedroom. What’s yours?

Fierce Felt Liner in Zodiac Black

What’s Your Sign?

I have to say that eyeliner is one of the most intimidating parts of putting on makeup. For fear of smudging the eyeliner and looking like a wild raccoon, or a zombie from The Walking Dead, I usually forgo eyeliner entirely. Lately, I have been getting a bit more courageous, and started to add a deep black eyeliner to the inside of my lower eyelid. This makes my big brown eyes pop more, which I love! However, this does not completely satisfy my desire to have a sexy feline-style winged liner. This Fierce Felt Liner has a precise point tip that allows anyone to draw the most detailed line to accentuate their eye makeup look. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed about was that the tip was too flexible. Ok, so I know what you’re thinking. Is there such a thing as ‘too flexbile‘? In most cases, no. However, in this instance, I felt like I did not have enough control with this product when trying to draw on my eyeliner. Other than that, the Zodiac Black color was classic and sleek (it’s just a coincidence that I used that word…or is it?). I love how thin the tip is and how bold the color was on my face. Sleek MakeUP Eyeshadow Palette in Vintage Romance

The Sleek MakeUP Eyeshadow Palette in Vintage Romance has a wide array of diverse and unique colors. Lately, when I do a full face makeup look for my days when I’m working for the auto show, I have enjoyed putting a natural, light looking highlighter on my eyelid. This gives me a dewy glow and color on my lids without having to completely risk my time and patience by messing up with a smokey look gone wrong and having to start all over again. Yes honey, we’ve all been there before. Receiving Sleek’s new eyeshadow palette really forced me to step outside of my comfort zone. I tried something new and different….and I ended up having a lot of fun with it.

For the look above, I put one of the medium gold shades on the base of my eyelid and then blended with a deep rose pink in the crease of my eye. To top it all off, I used the navy blue as an eyeliner to accentuate my lower lid and add another layer of depth and color to the look. How did I do?
