Hi my Eclectic Chic fam! I hope everyone has been safe and well! This is the first new Eclectic Chic blog post in a while, and I am so excited to be back with you all. I have so much to update you on, but I wanted to start off with something simple and delightful. Last summer, you all must have bought all of the bikes…because they were completely sold out! I learned my lesson, and put in my order for my new bike at the first chance I could. I’m so glad I was able to get my dream bike! I have been enjoying it so much. There’s something about the world being flipped upside down that makes you desire to go back to the basics. Having a picnic outside. Playing a good board game. Going for a nice walk in nature…and yes, riding a bike around your neighborhood. I hope you enjoy this well overdue Eclectic Chic feature on my new vintage-style bike.
Romanticize Your Life
My new city bike is a step-through style. I picked the color blush for a feminine, lighthearted, romantic feel. For the special bike ride pictured here, I went to Whole Foods to pick up fresh bouquets of flowers to fill my handwoven basket with. They were so magnificentally beautiful with the most vivid colors. I was so happy to make 3 arrangements with them and place them throughout my home after the bike ride.
For this summer afternoon day, I wore a light, pale green vintage dress that I bought while I was in grad school. It is still one of my favorites! I paired it with flat stappy white sandals and daisy earrings. This classic look has such a nostalgic air to it. The step-through style on my bike made it so easy to ride in my dress and sandals.
Wobble, Wobble!
I was a little wobbly at first, but quickly got the hang of it again. When I worked at the non-profit doing home and school-based therapy years ago, I would sometimes go on bike rides with my little kiddos as a fun activity to complete our time together. It gave them something fun to look forward to. I can’t believe how long ago that was. Since I last went for a bike ride, and worked at the non-profit. Like C.S. Lewis once said, “It’s funny how day by day nothing changes. But when you look back, everything is different”. Being inside during most of the pandemic, made me have a greater appreciation for these small moments to enjoy nature and the sunshine. What have you all been up to this summer?
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving” -Albert Einstein
That’s it! I hope you all enjoyed this! I am so looking forward to updating you with more Eclectic Chic posts in the near future! I have so much to catch you up on with my mini summer adventures! Until then, be well Eclectic Chic fam!
