Hello my little night owls! Although we got a temporary heat wave that brought us out of the cruel grip of the single digit temperatures…the pendulum is once again beginning to make its downswing as it becomes colder this winter. Do not despair, however. Let’s use this frigid weather as an opportunity to showcase some of our favorite winter jackets. New York Fashion Week is in full swing, so why not stomp down these icy sidewalks as if it was our own personal runway. In this Eclectic Chic exclusive, you will get a firsthand look at my favorite winter jackets that will keep you looking cute and cozy!
When I first saw this jacket in the Zara at the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan, it was love at first sight. This wild faux-fur waist-length jacket exhibits hues of white, grey, and a deep lavender that are neatly dispersed in layers. This Spanish company not only proves to make the most innovative designs for their fashionable faux-fur coats. Zara also does this in a manner that does not inflict animal cruelty when making these jackets. Bonus! We love our furry friends here at Eclectic Chic, so this is definitely a plus!
“Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing” -Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Rachel Roy’s wild cheetah print bomber jacket is one of my favorites this year. The front zipper closure is bordered by a bright, attention-grabbing fuschia color. It’s definitely my go to jacket that adds a pop of sass to my evening out for dinner with family or girlfriends.
This mid-length faux fur coat is a two-in-one look. Laundry by Shelli Segal has one side that has a faux-fur stand collar, and faux-fur accented hem with tortoise shell style buttons; and the other side that is completely covered in faux-fur. I have this coat in both blue, which is my new winter color, and ebony. The long sleeves with faux-fur cuffs are perfect for us girls with really long arms. It can be dressed up for special occasions, or presented in a more casual fashion for a lunch outing or a day at the office.
This Bisou Bisou rare Michelle Bohbot black and grey paisley coat with a light lavender hint, is made of a light cotton velveteen material. This mid-length coat has a low v-shaped opening in the front, which is perfect for turtlenecks, like the one I’m wearing in this picture, and thick sweaters alike. The fanned cuff sleeves exude a unique character. This piece has been in my closet and a part of my life since high school. When we take good care of our clothes and accessories, there is no such thing as “going out of style”. To this day, whether I wear it out of town or at home in Birmingham, Michigan, I still get as many compliments on it as the first time I wore it out of the house.
Madden Girl’s light green parka, with a removable faux-fur trimmed hood, is described as having an “expedition-chic” finish. No wonder we love this jacket here at Eclectic Chic! It’s water resistant material makes it the perfect choice for any outside adventure. It keeps me extremely warm during my travels and especially on those extra cold days! So fab!
This Just Jamie black cape is a beautiful, sophisticated addition to any look. Whenever I wear it, I feel like I am paying homage to Diana Ross in Mahogany. I absolutely love that movie…but, I cannot get sidetracked with my admiration of Diana Ross, or else we will be here all night. Back to the cape. It’s loose, airy fit is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also very comfortable. This is a good outerwear option when there is only a mild brisk feel in the air…perfect for those fall and mild winter days!
This INC International Concepts mid-length light cream-colored winter coat, with rose gold accents, is a wonderful inclusion to any winter wardrobe. The sleek fit of the coat gives me enough room to fit a nice dress or sweater underneath, while still allowing for a slim appearance. I paired this coat with a furry alpaca fur scarf from the Island Alpaca Company that I bought during my trip with my mom to Martha’s Vineyard for Mother’s Day weekend last year. No air can come through this scarf, and I always nuzzle my face into it and remember the fun trip to Oak Bluffs. I’m missing our furry stud muffin alpaca friends we met while there.

Love all of THE coats and jackets. Although I have a large collection of coats, you’ve made me want to shop for more. I especially want a couple of new jackets. 😊
