Happy Fashion Friday! I hope you all enjoyed your FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER! For this Eclectic Chic exclusive, I’m going to share with you 2 of my favorite F’s….fashion and food! The weather is warming up just in time to enjoy some fun in the sun. Being in the sunshine is not just restricted to weekends or fun trips up north to the lake. You can also enjoy some eclectic cuisines along with the rejuvenation that comes with being outdoors during a quick, getaway lunch break. This post will first introduce you to one of my favorite work outfits, and newest accessories, and also my top 9 favorite restaurants to go for an enjoyable lunch break!

I love enjoying outdoor lunch breaks in my eyelet lace pencil skirt, Michael Kors nude pumps, and Tory Burch tote purse.

I’m loving my new Tory Burch tote purse and wallet in a neutral almond hue. It was my mom’s gift to me to celebrate my 1 year anniversary of the opening of my private practice. It’s so classic yet versatile. I love wearing wearing it to work and out for nice brunches.

These pieces are some of my favorites. Pictured above are the Catherine brand deep blue eyelet lace pencil skirt and sleeveless multicolored paisley blouse! It’s feminine and professional for any workspace. Now, on to the food!
1. Station Square Kitchen + Bar
Number one on my list is Station Square Kitchen and Bar. This is my newest favorite lunch spot! The menu has a wide variety of delicious foods to choose from, for a good price, too! My favorite dish here is the Lobster Grilled Cheese. It has very generous-sized pieces of lobster meat with melted dill havarti cheese wedged effortlessly between two pieces of texas toast. Paired together with a hot cup of tomato soup and your choice of chips or fries (I’ve had both, and they’re both really good), this makes for the perfect lunch! Oh, and did I mention that it’s only $9!?! I couldn’t believe it either. Be sure to check them out, and let them know that Lia from Eclectic Chic referred you.
….and for dessert, my mom and I split this delicious toffee, caramel cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side! Yum!
Hey Mama!
2. Sedona Taphouse
Next on the list, located in beautiful Troy, Michigan, is Sedona Taphouse. Sedona has both indoor seating and comfortable outdoor seating on the rooftop. The shrimp scampi appetizer and the crab cake and Kona beef sliders are some of my favorite dishes off of the lunch menu. Also, the devil’s pass pasta has a nice kick to it, and is a wonderful spicy pasta dish.
3. The Apparatus Room
In the heart of downtown Detroit, The Apparatus Room is one of the coolest restaurants in the city. Pictured above, the poached lobster and shrimp deviled eggs, and house fresh heritage wheat bread with smoked lake superior whitefish dip with dill were the starters for my date and I. Pictured below, we moved on to the crispy fried cauliflower marinated in Korean hot sauce. It was so eloquently prepared that it has the texture of lightly fried chicken. We finished it off with the porcini and artichoke ravioli….and were too full to even think about ordering dessert.
4. Big Rock Chophouse
Big Rock Chophouse is an old-time favorite in Birmingham, Michigan. This upscale restaurant comes with a high price tag…but, for those who like a good deal, don’t be deterred. The happy hour menu has some of the best dishes for the best prices. The spicy tuna lettuce wrap and calamari pictured above are $6 each. Wow! The price is cut down, but the flavor is not. These are two of my favorite happy hour dishes at Big Rock, and I highly recommend them.
5. Commonwealth
Commonwealth is located in Birmingham, Michigan, and has a wonderful outdoor seating area. Even though I am not a vegetarian, I can still hold a good appreciation for a savory meat-free dish. The shitake omelette is my go-to order when I come here. Simply as the name implies, this dish has an abundance of roasted shitake mushrooms and chives, with a vast amount of avocado slices on top of the omelette. This dish is paired with a lightly chopped bok choy salad.
6. Ocean Prime
Date night at Ocean Prime entails a romantic and sultry atmosphere. Even though evenings here are nice and relaxing, don’t count Ocean Prime out for lunches. Pictured above is the Wild Alaskan halibut atop a lobster claw. My date and I ordered the same dish (great minds think alike) and it was absolutely delicious. Pictured below is the dessert we split! Highly recommended.
Dessert, Anyone?
7. Cafe Sushi
Cafe Sushi has THE BEST bento boxes with sushi rolls, dumplings, salad, rice and edamame! They are so filling, and enough food for 2 people to split. The food is delicious and the customer service here is really great, too.
8. Sushi Hana
I went here for a nice, easy breezy lunch date. My favorite sushi roll, without a doubt, is the spicy tuna roll. We ordered this, along with the volcano roll and dragon roll. The dragon roll has shrimp tempura and cucumber topped off with eel, scallions and teriyaki sauce. The volcano roll, which was my date’s suggestion, was a real winner in my eyes. The true MVP! It has a combination of salmon and crab salad, jalapeno, cucumber, topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, chilli sauce, and scallions.
9. First Watch
Pictured above is the Farmhouse Hash I ordered during my lunch with my mom and Aunt Sherry. Fun fact is that I looooooove anything that contains avocado. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash with scrambled style eggs atop seasoned potatoes, bacon, roasted onions and tomatoes, Cheddar and Monterey Cheddar, and BIG slices of avocado. On the side, there was a slice of whole grain artisan toast with strawberry preserves. Another Eclectic Chic First Watch favorite is the Morning Meditation juice. The morning meditation fresh juice is SO delicious. It has orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. All of the flavors complimented one another so well.
Well, all of this talk of food has made me really hungry. I need to choose which of these aforementioned restaurants I am going to choose for my lunch today. Wish me luck that I make the right decision. I don’t think I can go wrong. Have a wonderful weekend lovelies!
