Happy Labor Day Eclectic Chic family! I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing weekend! I can tell you that I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I went straight from the auto show training last week into a nice 4-day weekend off (well, I did go in for a couple of sessions…but for all practical purposes, I had a lengthy mini-vacation). So what did I do with my free time? My mom and I went to dinner at Hockeytown before going to the Tiger’s Game at Comerica Park…we won, by the way!! It was an awesome game and a terrific win! I also took my time at the Baldwin Public Library and checked out a couple of books that caught my eye. The past couple of days, I have devoured a novel by Anna Pitoniak called Necessary People. I have enjoyed this delightful story that explores and challenges the roles individuals play within their relationships, and whether or not loyalty is honored over ambition. It’s wonderful, and I’m already halfway through it. Not to mention the time spent with friends and family having leisurely lunches and dinners in Birmingham and Royal Oak. I was so excited to finally have dinner at Social Kitchen and Bar in downtown Birmingham. I am in love with their Blackened Shrimp Cobb salad. It’s so flavorful and enough food to split with someone else. We topped off the weekend by making our way to some of our favorite cider mills here in Michigan…Yates and Franklin. I was so excited about being at the cider mill, that the sweet lady gave us a couple of extra doughnuts. They were absolutely delicious and so #PureMichigan.
Anyways, back to the fashion piece of this post. I have always wondered why so many people rush to wear their beloved white clothing items before the ever looming deadline of Labor Day! Gasp! Are there not days left within the month of September where there are blue skies, and sunny weather serving as the perfect backdrop for a nice white ensemble? Even with the sporadic Michigan weather we often endure, there will be some nice days when we will be tempted to pull out our favorite white tee, a mid-length white lacy dress, or the pair of white pants. Yes, we all have at least one pair of white pants that are not only flattering to all of our curves…but, also have a versatile, easy-breezy feel to them. What more could we ask for? Perhaps an extra day added to our Labor Day weekend? Wouldn’t that be absolutely wonderful!

For this look, I have paired one of my favorite pair of fitted white pants to go with my Ted Baker Melnip Floral Pump in an elegant satin pink, and matching Ted Baker Acileei Elegance Mix Media Cardigan and tote purse. Are you having deja vu? Do the purse and pumps look familiar? No, it’s not your eyes playing tricks on you. I featured these same pumps and tote purse in my recent Fashion Friday How to Style a Day-To-Night Look in 4 Easy Steps post last month. Who says you can only wear your accessories with one look? Not I.
