Good morning Eclectic Chic fam, and happy Fashion Friday! I am preparing to enjoy the second day of the Baltimore Auto Show. I am presenting on the newest Buick Encore GX…so, if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and say, “hi”. Anyways, I am in the thick of the auto show season. So far, I’ve done Orlando, Fort Worth, Tampa, Charlotte, Greenville, Providence, Grand Rapids, and now, Baltimore. 8 shows and counting! So what does that mean for me? Yes, a lot of frequent flyer miles, exploring, fun, and cars! I love it! However, it also means a lot of different climates that I have to adapt to and pack for! That can be a difficult feat…but, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Read on to find out some easy tips to be able to Fashionably Layer Like A Pro.

Always Carry or Pack a Pair of Sleek, Chic Gloves
Keeping our skin and hands moisturized is very crucial during the winter months. Carrying hand cream and applying a light layer throughout the day is important…but, so is wearing a nice pair of gloves while you’re outside. To get this look, you can put on a neutral, black pair of leather or faux leather gloves to perfectly coordinate with any outfit.
Cowl Neck Scarves Are Warm and Fashionable Accessories
This accessory that I’m wearing is an oldie but goodie. While I was an assistant manager for the Abercrombie and Fitch brand, I bought this faux fur cowl neck scarf. The mixture of light brown and golden brown create a nice color combo that compliments many outfits well. From being paired with a sleek sweater dress, or with a jean and sweater combo, this fashionable scarf will help to keep any frigid air away from your chest.
Ankle Boots With A Nice Modest Heel
There’s nothing like a good ankle or over-the-knee boot to add a pop of flair to your look, while keeping you warm. I love this black, faux leather ankle boot because of the style, versatility, and modest chunky heel. They are comfortable to walk in and helps me to keep my balance when I accidentally step on a slick area on the sidewalk. Similar to the cowl neck scarf, the ankle boots won’t let any cold air nip at your ankles.
Pro Tip: Make sure that there is enough room in your boots to fit a thick pair of socks. You can wear your comfiest sock, without having to worry about coordinating…because, no one will see it anyways. My favorite thick pair of socks to layer with are bright red, snowflake socks. I have a few pair of them…but, you would never know.
A Neutral Colored Cashmere Will Go A Long Way
My mom always told me growing up that cashmere is that material that will always keep you warm. Don’t let it’s lightweight appearance and touch fool you. If you put on a nice cashmere sweater, you will not need an undershirt. It will keep your core nice and toasty warm. Cashmere will cost you a pretty penny…but don’t be deterred. Depending on the store, or the time of year, you can find some good sales and stock up on your favorite colored cashmere sweaters. I have a few different colors, but the cashmere sweater I’m wearing in this photoshoot is one of my favorites, due to it’s neutral macadamia brown, taupe color.

Find A Lightweight, Midi to Long Length Jacket
Now, this tip is the cherry on top of the cake. Choose a chic, lightweight midi to long length jacket to help keep you effortlessly, and aesthetically bundled up. Pictured in this photoshoot, I am wearing the Renegade Snake Printed Blazer from Anthropologie. It has style and visually pleasing patterns; yet this blazer subtly compliments the rest of the ensemble.
