Hi there Eclectic Chic family! I am so excited to bring you this Therapy Thursday double feature today. In the first part, this blog post will give you a tour of my new office location for my private practice, Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC. Enjoy!
Sigmund Freud Style
A huge part of the therapeutic process being successful is the therapist’s training and the rapport that he or she has with clients. Yes! Absolutely! Another important piece of the whole experience for me as a therapist is making sure that my clients feel comfortable and safe. This Sigmund Freud style chaise lounge and matching velvety soft sofa and chair did just that for me.
To create a calm, neutral space, I chose light granite grey and beige as my primary color palette. To bring life to the office suite, I also incorporated pops of turquoise, lavender, and green to highlight the room. Take a peek at these faux moss branches and soft hydrangeas nestled right beside the sofa.

This sleek, modern cocktail table offers a nice space to place the vintage, distressed tray and other miscellaneous items. The angled cuts and lines on this hand-finished elm and mandi oak table shows off a style that emulates the pyramids. How exotic!
Fancy A Cup Of Tea
As a way to further accommodate my clients and make the therapeutic process more comfortable, I always offer my clients water or hot tea. There is nothing like a soothing cup of peppermint, green tea pomegranate, or lemon ginger to soothe the soul and make a person feel more at ease.
Welcome To Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC
Laughter Is The Best Medicine
Did I mention that all of these beautiful photos of my office were taken by family friend, Rod Arroyo, of Portraits by Rod? Portraits by Rod has taken some really awesome photos that I’ve used for professional headshots, fashion blog posts, and personal branding. Without fail, Rod always manages to make me burst out laughing in the middle of a photoshoot. Well, you know what they say. The best medicine is laughter!
Speaking of laughter, I wouldn’t dare leave out this classic piece of humor. Who else loved Charlie Brown and The Peanuts? Yes, me too!! As a kid, I always remember the abrasive, yet “tough love” type of advice that Lucy Van Pelt would give at her Psychiatry booth in exchange for only 5 cents. Sounds like quite the deal, huh? Well, if you’ve ever seen Lucy in action, you may have wondered how she can effortlessly execute the cruel and unregulated form of Gestalt therapy…”snap out of it”. Sound familiar? Although our session fees are higher than that, at Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC, I can assure you that we have the license and credentialing to provide ethical services to our clients. I cannot say the same for Lucy. We love you Lucy…it’s nothing personal.
“Today’s Dream Sets The Foundation For Tomorrow’s Reality” -Unknown
It has always been my dream to begin my own private practice and see clients for individual and family therapy sessions. On the cover of last year’s planner, the phrase “hustle and heart will set you apart” comes back to mind for me. That is 100% true. There was a lot of dedication and hard work that I had to put into getting to this point….and there were definitely frustrations and disappointments along the way. I know that in addition to what I did on my own, I consistently leaned on God and my family for support prior to and during this 10 year journey. At 28 years old, I am so blessed that my dreams of yesterday have become my reality. Today. Right now. I still can’t believe it. It’s a dream come true. What are you dreaming of today? Share some of your goals in the comments below.
Could I Have Attention-Deficit Disorder?
In addition to the Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC brochures, I also have other mental health related brochures on display for clients to take home and read over. The National Institute of Mental Health was so kind as to provide my practice with these greatly informative, yet concise brochures on topics ranging from ADHD to Bipolar Disorder to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. They even sent brochures on specific topics, such as what parents can do to help children and teens cope with violence and disasters. Are there any mental health or counseling topics that you are interested in learning more about? Drop your ideas in the comments below. You never know. Your topic may be chosen to be discussed in a future Eclectic Chic Therapy Thursday blog post.
Lotus Is The Symbol Of Rebirth
Throughout my office, you will see elements containing lotus flowers. From this vibrant painting behind me; to my Dayspring Vision Counseling brochures. This is no coincidence that these beautiful flowers have been incorporated into my practice. The lotus flower is a symbol of spiritual enlightenment and rebirth. The lotus manages to unapologetically defy all logic by maintaining its form and beauty while emerging from the murky, tainted pond water. I believe that is a great visualization of what the therapeutic process is all about. At Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC, our mission is to heal, learn, and grow together while working to break the stigma surrounding mental health. The lotus flower is a gentle and awe-inspiring reminder that there is always hope. That despite being in settings that could and should taint us to our core, such as the dirty pond water, that we have the ability to come out of it radiant, whole, and restored.
Practice Planner Series
Did you know that there are strict rules for therapists to follow regarding keeping confidential records and what information is recorded during each session? Yep. That’s right. Especially now that we are excitedly accepting clients’ insurance as payment for their intake, individual and family sessions, it is imperative that our treatment plans, progress notes and other important documents adhere to the requirements that insurance companies are looking for. Not to mention that audits are a good way to keep clinicians on their toes. I am so happy to have purchased the full Practice Planner series with Treatment Planners, Progress Notes Planners, and Homework Planners for children, teens, adults, and families, in addition to the more intensive Practice Planner books for crisis counseling and suicide prevention.
Thank you so much for stopping by! For any questions regarding the services that Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC offers, feel free to contact me or leave a comment below. Stay tuned for part 2 of this Therapy Thursday. You’re invited to my Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House for Dayspring Vision Counseling, PLLC.
