How To Tame Those Bushy Brows & Other Showstopper VoxBox Products

Happy Makeup and Beauty Monday Eclectic Chic beauties! We’re going to begin this week with a real treat. I recently received the Showstopper VoxBox from Influenster, and this is by far the VoxBox that I have been the most excited about thus far.

I’m going to start with a product that I think you all will be really excited about! The Lime Crime Bushy Brow Strong Hold Gel and Precision Pen will help you tame those bushy brows and present a clean, neat look. One thing that has been consistent about my physical appearance are my pronounced, thick, bushy eyebrows. Lucky me, thick Brooke Shield’s style eyebrows are in. However, you cannot have your eyebrows going every which way like The Wild Thornberrys‘ rainforest vines intertwined above your eyes. You have to tame them. So, of course I was completely intrigued by the Bushy Brow Strong Hold Gel and Bushy Brow Precision Pen. I first used the Precision Pen to outline the shape of my eyebrow and to draw in natural looking fine lines towards the center of my eyebrows. Then, I used the Bushy Brow Strong Hold Gel, which is like a finer spoolie, to brush my eyebrows upwards. The gel was a brown color that went on wet, and dried to keep my eyebrows in place. I noticed towards the end of the day that my eyebrow hairs had not moved. Abracadabra! It’s magic!! I would definitely use this product again. I requested the products in the color “Brownie”…yummy! With a side of vanilla ice cream “please” and “thank-you”. No seriously though, I think next time I get this product, I would like to see it in a darker brown color.

Quick Tip: If you have thick eyebrows like me, here’s something that may help you. Take a fine tooth comb. If you have a small travel size comb, even better. Brush your eyebrows upwards with a spoolie. Place the comb through your eyebrows, so that your eyebrow hairs are peeking outward through the top of the teeth of the comb. Take a small pair of manicure scissors and lightly snip, snip those extra bushy hairs away. That way your eyebrows will look more neat and polished…but be careful not to take off too much. Less is more when it comes to any type of shaping, plucking, waxing, or trimming of your eyebrows. Happy grooming!

I will admit that when I learned about the primer that would be in this VoxBox, I felt somewhat indifferent. I have tried a lot of primers that accomplish the tricky feat of not clogging my pores or irritating my skin, but creating a nice foundation to prep my skin for makeup. I was not sure what this primer would do that others have not done. Well, I was wrong. The VDL Lumilayer Primer and Lumilayer Primer Fresh offered something that I had never experienced before. It was lightweight, yet very hydrating….which is so important to me during the winter months. The hydration left a really beautiful dewy finish on my face, complete with a sparkly sheen from the light sparkles in the formula. Not to mention that it kept my makeup on my face for a longer period of time than when I wear makeup without primer. Although I preferred the finish of the regular Lumilayer Primer over the Lumilayer Primer Fresh, I would definitely recommend both products.

Who doesn’t love a good serum? Winter is right around the corner, and we have to be proactive with our skin care this season. Although I already have my favorite serums, I was definitely up to give this one a try. Clarins Double Serum has a wonderful scent (which is very important) and combines plant extracts with oil and water-soluble agents to create a nice, anti-aging blend to treat your facial and decollete area with. A bit of advice, however: Put on this serum at nighttime (when you do not have plans that evening) and not during the daytime. One night, I had a date that I was getting ready for. I washed my face, applied toner, and then applied the Clarins serum. Even in very small amounts, this serum made my face shiny. Although the directions state that you can do morning and nighttime application, I would add this to my nighttime routine before bedtime or during the morning if I am relaxing around my home.

Ok so my review of this final product is going to sound a lot like a love letter…but, what can I say? Copper + Crane hit the nail on the head with this spa bar. Bravo!! Encore!!…but I digress. Let me tell you how I came to fall in love. First of all, you get a lot of bang for your buck. The size of this bar of soap will probably last me until the beginning of the new year! Just kidding…but it is a very large bar. Moving right along, you will love the undeniably fresh scent of this spa bar. The smell of this soap is Absolutely Divine!! When I opened the beautifully packaged Copper + Crane box, before even unwrapping the soap, my nostrils were met with a heavenly scent. When I showered, it felt like I was in a spa. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Not only does it smell amazing, but it is laced with essential oils that keep my skin clean, yet very moisturized. Moisturizing is key! Especially during the winter months that are upon us. You’ve been warned again 🙂 I will be getting another Copper + Crane Spa Bar when I am all done with the first one.
